Boxing in Fiji
Boxing is one of the most oldest sport that have been played in Fiji, and is controlled by the Fiji boxing commission. It is a sport where everyone can participate, people from the rural and urban areas as it requires pure skill.
Fiji has some well known boxers who have rose from underground boxing in Fiji such as Nathan Singh, Sebastian Singh, Sunia Cama and Farzan Ali.The most popular boxing was in the year 70s and 80s as the hype for boxing became more the people became more interested in the sport and started betting on their favourite to win, most of the people liked this sport because of how dangerous it is
Just in recent years boxing have been revived to its core as there are more boxing events happening and that takes people interest as events happens all the time.
Many young people are taking boxing to stay fit and to learn to defend themselves and some even to start a career from it.
People mostly join boxing gyms to enhance their skills, there are boxing gyms located in Suva and Nadi and other areas as well.
